DETAILED TOUR PROGRAM

Day 1: THE ANCIENT ROME WITH THE CAPITOL, THE ROMAN FORUM, PALATINO, MARCELLO’S THEATRE, DOMUS AUREA OF EMPEROR NERONE, WITNESS OF THE IMPERIAL ROME
Arrival at the Airport, welcome by
Discover Italy Now Tour leader and transfer to 3* Hotel or B & B. Refreshing welcome drink and free time to relax or to begin familiarizing yourself with the enchanting atmosphere of Rome.
After lunch, together with the tour leader you start discovering the ancient Rome.
The start point is going to be the Capitol/ Campidoglio, which was one of the main romanic settlements and seat of the roman senate.
Your tour schedule continues towards Santa Maria in Aracoeli, Teatro Marcello, which represented a great source of inspiration when the Colosseum was built, the vast archaeological site of Roman Forum, the Palatine Hill, some of the majestic and imposing cathedrals, witnesses of great and ancient civilization, the imperial domus, exclusive areas where the emperors had their residences.Your entire afternoon is dedicated to the discovery of the ancient Imperial Rome

Evening: Dinner in a evocative restaurant such as ”Agata e Romeo” where you will have a gastronomic adventure based on the typical roman cuisine.Afterwards, you can opt to continue with an after dinner in one of the many bars with outdoor seating in Piazza Navona, one of the most characteristic corners of the city, which in times of Christmas is filled with stalls and beautiful festive atmosphere

Day 2: IMPRESSIVE COLOSSEUM, LEGENDARY CIRCO MASSIMO, STADIUM, ARCH OF CONSTANTINO, MAGNIFICENT IMPERIAL FORUM, THE MAGIC TREVI FOUNTAIN, PIAZZA DI SPAGNA, PIAZZA DEL POPOLO, PIAZZA MONTECITORIO
After a delicious breakfast with roman hot croissants and cappuccino, you start your morning walking in your own pace and searching for the great evidences of the imperial era: the arena where the fightings used to take place between the gladiators and with wild beasts, the legendary stadium with spectacular races... arches, basilicas, temples and the Imperial Forums.
During the afternoon you are going to walk to the magnificent Trevi Fountain, ”diving” into spectacular atmosphere of the famous film of Fellini, "La Dolce Vita" and then continue with Piazza del Quirinale and one of city’s most beautiful views.
Here, is held every Sunday afternoon at 16.00 the solemn changing of the guard.
The Church of San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane, the beautiful Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Montecitorio are also going to be visited.

Evening: free or together with the tour leader in search of traditional roman cuisine and then a walk along the Tiber to discover the magnificent Rome by night.

Day 3: SANT´ANGELO CASTLE, THE SOLEMN BASILICA OF SAN PIETRO, SISTINE CHAPEL, VATICAN MUSEUMS AND VATICAN CITY, BAROQUE AND PIAZZA NAVONA, PALAZZO MADAMA, ARCHEOLOGICAL AREA, PANTHEON WITH THE BEAUTIFUL DOME

Your itinerary begins this morning with other symbols of the different eras: Castel Sant'Angelo with Ponte Sant'Angelo /Sant’Angelo bridge and the spectacular view of the river Tiber and St. Peter's Basilica, St. Peter's Square and basilica with the magnificent dome, a marvel of Michelangelo, the Vatican Museums that are going to be visited, one of the world’s most famous museums with its heritage of the city’s past and the famous Sistine Chapel and Raffaello’s precious saloon.
During the afternoon, the tour is going to take you to the baroque Navona Square with its fountains: Fontana dei Fiumi, Fontana del Moro and Fontana di Nettuno, the baroque Church of Santa Agnese in Agone and the Pamphili Palace.
You are also going to see Palazzo Madama, seat of the Senate and a bit further in Piazza San Pantaleo you find Museum of Rome with a large collection of sculptures, paintings and frescoes from the Middle Ages up to the nineteenth century.The tour shedule have in store for you also a visit to the archaeological area of Argentina, the Church of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva and the Pantheon with its magnificent dome, one of the most interesting roman architecture that houses the tombs of the kings of Italy.

Evening: exciting atmosphere of Trastevere among wine bars, restaurants and wonderful places where to spend a pleasant evening

Day 4:
ROMA – ALBANO 25 km by bike
ALBANO – ARICCIA 2 km by bike

Your journey continues today by bicycle out of Rome, in Alban hills area, among green rolling hills, castles and vineyards that give birth to delicious white wines such as: Frascati, Colli Albani, or Marino just to name a few.
Arrival at the ancient village of Albano where is going to be visited the historic part: the imperial villa of Pompeo Magno, the majestic amphitheater, Cellomaio Baths Spa, the beautiful church of Santa Maria della Rotonda and the Capuchins Cloister.
Then you continue to immerse yourself into landscapes of unique beauty, along the Lake Albano crossing soft green hills and beautiful vineyards towards the medieval town of Aricca, situated on a outcropping of volcanic rock where you can stroll among narrow and charming stone streets to find old architectural and historic beauties like the magnificent baroque Chigi Palace and the park where you can live moments of authentic italian history.
The afternoon and evening shedule have in store a wine tasting and typical gastronomic dishes at ”Cantina Volpetti”

Day 5:
ARICCIA – ARDEA 26 km by bike
ARDEA – APRILIA 17 km bike
Wine and local products tasting
Today’s bicycle itinerary takes you towards the coast. In Ardea you are going to visit ”Donnardea Farm” and taste excellent wines and local gastronomic products.
During the afternoon the itinerary continues to Aprilia in the middle of Colli Albani/ Albani Hills for a visit to another farm factory, ”Campo del Fico”, where is placed a beautiful medieval tower.

Day 6: APRILIA – SABAUDIA 54 km by bike
Today’s itinerary is going to take you by bike through rolling hills and scenic vineyards in the heart of Agro Pontino to get to the Tyrrhenian sea with its 15 km of pristine beach, costal lakes and the lush nature of Circeo National Park that you are going to visit.
If time allows, you also visit San Felice Circeo, the old village situated on Mount Circeo with its beautiful Templari tower and Palazzo Baronale.

Day 7: SABAUDIA – TERRACINA 21 km by bike
During the last day of your itinerary you are going to pedal your bicycle through the vineyards of Merlot, Cabernet, Sauvignon and Pinot Nero….and you will experience another unforgettable day in the middle of the history and traditions of Colli Albani’s area
